Hanscom Field, Bedford, MA

This airfield runway rubblization and asphalt overlay project was a high intensity, 24-7 project, with only a 30-day closure during August of 2017 for the complete reconstruction of Runway 11-29 at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts. The very aggressive schedule was made possible by utilizing concrete rubblization and asphalt overlay which can be completed much more quickly than traditional full-depth reconstruction techniques.

Antigo operated 2 to 4 MHB Badger Breakers® and one grid roller to meet the contractor’s production requirements. Antigo rubblized 105,000 square yards of concrete during 8 day shifts and one night shift.

This project is one example of the many ways Antigo and its fleet of concrete breakers can assist owners in meeting their unique project needs.
